About Me

Retired: twice the time, half the money!  How true is that!  Well, now that I have twice as much time on my hands (NOT!), I thought it was time to join the hundreds - or is it thousands? - of folks who are bloggers. So, welcome to my blog!

I love to go treasure hunting at thrift stores, garage and yard sales, rummage sales, estate sales, flea markets, etc. ... and have been known to do a little dumpster diving! Haven't had as much luck with alley finds, although have found a few goodies on sidewalks and along freeway shoulders!

I'm also a seller on eBay ... what else would I do with all those really great vintage finds? I've been selling and buying on eBay since 1999 and I think eBay still offers opportunities for folks to find one-of-a-kind treasures and for the sellers who offer those one-of-a-kind items to make money. So, last year - with the anticipation of retiring - I decided to become serious about selling on eBay. It's been trial and error, but every sale keeps me motivated ... and I keep at it!

I started this blog to highlight some of the great treasures that I have found and sold on eBay in the hope that it would help others who would like to do the same. Whether you're looking to supplement your income, save for a special event, or make a living with eBay, the opportunities are still there. You just have to know how to find them!

DH and I have been married since 1983.  We have two great sons who are both in college.  I also have a daughter and 5 grandchildren.  DD and her family live out of state, so I don't get to see them very much.  At least once a year, I go visit for about a week.  But we keep in touch via email and phone on a regular basis.

Sure do miss them!

I've lived in Southern California all my life and just love it here!  After 25 years in the public sector, I retired in December 2008.  After working all my life and being Mom for over 30 years, I am now facing an almost empty nest and more time on my hands than I know what to do.  Well, there ARE plenty of things to do -- it's the structure and purpose of what I do that is off-balance.  So, I quilt, I blog, and I do eBay.  I've also joined a book club and quilting guild. I visit with my friends as often as I can ...

... and we go to Hawaii ...

... and cruises to Baja, Mexico where I can kick up my heels and shake my bootie to the sounds of Latin music!  Maybe retirement isn't so bad, after all!
